We help crew members and pilots to access airlines

What personality needs a Cadet Pilot?

Airline Commander and Crew Mentor, Qrewmentor helps and guides crew members to access jobs with honesty and professionalism.

It happens in many companies, it happens in airlines, in Cabin Crews and of course in Cadet pilots.

Currently there are cadet programs in many airlines (they are anticipating the possible lack of pilots in the medium and increasingly short term future) such as Iberia, Qatar, Cathay Pacific, KLM, Easyjet, Ryanair etc.

Before, the difficult thing was to enter the first company and now it is to enter the cadet program.

We have gained something and that is that they do not ask you for 1000 flight hours to accept your CV.

But even so, it is not as simple as it seems.

What do they seek?
What determines whether you enter or not?
And if we put it the other way around? What determines that you DO NOT enter? What leaves you out?

The airlines can teach you aircraft systems, regulations, weather, operational procedures, and many other things that a cadet needs before getting behind the controls of a (say) A320.

If that plane is flown internationally (in English) let’s say that the language must be worn.

They are not going to teach us English and in an interview, making it clear that we have not mastered it or that we are going to master it in a short space of time leaves us out.

Attitude. That surely they are not going to teach us. The attitude must be brought from home. Be attentive, pay attention, learn, try not to make the same mistake twice (another mistake is better than the same one again) show interest, be punctual…

And lacking any of these leaves us out.

Not knowing how to handle yourself in a team, or adapting to the other driver, having an excessively emotional or excessive personality (almost anything) you have to be stable, show it and be consistent.

Do not stay in the previous mistakes, return to the current moment (that a plane runs a lot and we cannot stay behind).

And understand that we are a component of a larger system that makes the flight phase, the flight, the fleet, the company and aviation improve with us in the team.

That is the idea and the winning attitude in some Cadet tests.
Good Luck.
In the meantime, find peaceful skies.
