Plan B
When I started as a co-pilot in airlines (towards the end of the 90s) my Cpatains told me right away “you should have a plan B”.
It was curious that in a profession like piloting (which was well paid at the time) the people who held it in positions of a certain solvency recommended that I looked for something else just in case.
Twenty five years later, this concept has been extended to all people related to aviation, partly because every ten years this business that we love so much breaks one way or another.

I refer to history.
In the early 1990s, the Gulf War affected world air traffic.
Ten years later, September 11th changed aviation forever, in 2010 the financial crisis broke the market triggering the low cost (and low salary) concept and in 2020 COVID 19 closed the world airspace for almost two years.

My generation, and the one to come, is constantly looking for plans B for the simple reason that they do not trust the market, nor those who hire them, nor those who consume it.
It is logical, there are no guilty parties, it is simply how the world turns in these decades and how we adapt to these dynamics.
Some invest in real estate, others in stock markets, others in cryptocurrency, others on the internet, most aviation accounts revolve around connecting other accounts, offering opportunities, training (for this you must have previous knowledge), and the two great current trends, nutrition and physical exercise.
They are as you can (we can) see, plans B where each one tries to find other options besides flying, options that have several areas covered at the same time such as:
That we like to develop them (important)
That they help others (solve a problem)
That they generate something (economy, health or satisfaction)
That it does not enslave (because then we become a plan B ourselves)
Have a future (or it wouldn’t be a plan).

Summarizing, we try to help each other without having the feeling of working more and more like mice spinning the wheels, and we try to develop something else, lest aviation go bankrupt once again.
Look for your plan B, it is a recommendation that he made to me a long time ago and that I do now.
In the meantime, find peaceful skies.
