We help crew members and pilots to access airlines

THEY SAID NO, AND THEY EVEN DIDN’T LOOK AT ME

Airline Commander and Crew Mentor, Qrewmentor helps and guides crew members to access jobs with honesty and professionalism.

It is a very common reaction.

We often find it in students who come to us after having one (or more) bumps in the company tests.

Let’s take a quick look at what things make recruiters send us home almost without blinking.

As we have said in previous blogs, there are legal requirements and there are internal requirements.

Within the legal limits, if we do not comply, the airline could be fined by the aeronautical authority.

It is prohibited to be a CABIN CREW in the Persian Gulf under the age of 21.

You cannot fly in Europe with less than 1.57m in height.

It is required to be of legal age in Europe (18 years).

You must have authorized nationality and / or work permit.

You have to have certain vaccinations to work as a cabin crew or pilot in certain countries.

And a long etcetera that changes with each country and sometimes in the same country changes over time.

That is why knowing AND RESPECTING the legal requirements where the companies are based is important.
If they detect that we do not comply with them, they have the feeling that we are wasting their time and they “invite” us to leave the tests as quickly as possible and that is what makes us feel bad.
The solution to the legal regulations that mark your access tests is to know it and comply with it.
As for internal regulations, it is somewhat more complex. Among other things because it is not so clearly published or when it is published it is not clear what they are looking for.
Have no visible tattoos. It depends on what we are wearing, a tattoo can be seen, intuited or not seen at all.

And this is where recruiters should be kinder if our profile does not meet requirements that are not entirely clear.
At this point we are going to have to make an extra effort so as not to get very angry if the manners are not entirely correct and polite, among other reasons because both the recuiter and we are tired, with a certain level of stress and in an abnormal situation.
And that is also a test that will serve us for the future.
Receiving a refusal (fair or unfair) or receiving it (even worse) in a bad way, about something in which we have put desire and effort is a learning that hardens the spirit (that we will need it strong to fly) and that makes us understand and reconsider about how we should prepare and behave in the following test.

Because, if you want, there will be more tests. Many more.

Until then, May you Find peaceful skies.
