The 7 keys in an interview
Many of our mentees come to Qrewmentor because they have previously tried different company
tests and for some reason it hasn’t turned out as well as they hoped.
With us the formula is simple, hard work, repetition, logical personalization of answers and exhaustive attention to detail.
And they enter. The % of success has surprised us ourselves.
We are going to write down 7 points that are the basis of a good interview.
Failing in any of these 7, produces a more than likely email of “unfortunately your profile does not match our search….”

Pay attention and your chances of passing the interview will go up a lot.
1.- PUNCTUALITY. If the day you “supposedly put more interest in your professional career”, you CANNOT be late.
It is considered disrespectful to others (it’s like saying that your time is more valuable than your colleagues, recruiters or potential bosses). Arrive ahead of time.
Being late is not an option.

2.- CLOTHING. If in doubt, dress formal. Traditional.
Even boring.
Remember that in aviation we wear UNIFORMS (all the same) so standing out for the suit, dress, for the colors is more often a mistake than a success.
We don’t know of anyone who has been hired by airlines for wearing a couture dress or suit.
Much more is needed, and standing out for clothing or accessories is NOT one of those factors.

3.- EDUCATION. Demonstrating throughout the process (actually throughout the entire professional career) respect, education and the ability to adapt to others in the workplace is a facet that they will pay attention to. And a lot.

4.- COMPETITIVENESS. The crew in general, we do not compete among ourselves. There is room for everyone if we meet the profile.
Compete against your self from yesterday, improve and help your teammates and team. It is a quality that will help you a lot in aviation.
5.- THEY ALWAYS LOOK AT YOU (OR ALMOST ALWAYS). Your attitude, your knowing how to be, your tranquility and your predisposition to help, can make the difference between being outside or inside the next phase.
Do not forget that even if the recruiters do not see you, your colleagues see you and that also has an effect on your result.

6.- NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION. A calm, relaxed and confident attitude is transmitted in your gesture language. The recruiting team may know a lot or a little about non-verbal communication, but they ALWAYS appreciate it (even subconsciously). Take care of it during the process.

7.- SPEAK SLOWLY. The nerves are going to be present, it is almost inevitable. The natural tendency is to want to finish the process as quickly as possible and return to the comfort zone.
This (natural) reaction makes us speak quickly (to finish sooner) and therefore communicate worse.
Speaking slowly is a sign of calm, serenity and control. 3 factors highly appreciated in crew members.
Breathe, control the situation and speak slowly.
Use these 7 points and the chances of passing your interview will be greater.
Until then, find peaceful skies.
