Where can I work with my passport?
It is one of the big problems that we encounter when we have finished the tcp course or when we are thinking of doing it.
Yes, I love aviation and I want to become a TCP, but with my nationality…
Where can I fly to?
We are going to do a quick summary of the options in the American continent and little by little we will analyze other parts of the world.
AMERICA

CANADA/USA
Those who have a Canadian nationality or from USA (or Green card) have a huge market in North America.
Harder conditions at the beginning, but a very good growth ladder in the future.
CANADA has small airlines requesting:

Jetlines asks for a Canadian passport.

And also the main ones ask for a Canadian Passport
Like Air Canada

In USA
Smaller airlines such as Contour (qualified to work in the USA and with a valid passport to travel in and out of the country).

Hillwood (US Passport or foreign+ work permit in USA)

Or United Airlines (USA or foreign passport + being chosen by the government to be able to work in the USA)

Of course those with a native level of English can access the lines of the Persian Gulf without the need for a tcp degree.
(ETIHAD, QATAR, EMIRATES…)
MEXICO
Volaris accepts with Mexican, Costa Rican or Salvadoran Passport.

CENTRAL AMERICA
Copa (On their website say that they do not make distinctions of nationality, but you have to check if the government requirements to work as a tcp allow it).

CARIBBEAN
Caribbean Airlines, Intercaribbean, Cayman Airways, Cubana or Air Caraibes do not state their conditions nor do they seem to be hiring nowadays.
SOUTH AMERICA
Latam makes very specific calls, they usually set the requirements depending on the country (mostly in Chile) at this moment it does not have any active calls.

https://latam.trabajando.cl/
GCA Asks for Colombian nationality.
Azul in Brazil also has nothing active that is not on the ground and in the USA, like GOL, which is looking for a lot of employees on the ground and in the offices, but does not have any active calls in Flight.
Avianca does not have any vacancies at the moment, but it is true that on its website it leaves a place for the requirements according to the country of origin (Colombia, Central America and Ecuador-Peru) but when trying to access it, it takes us to a non-existent file. We will have to wait for them to have an active call.

Jetsmart requests Argentine nationality and Cabin Crew certificate (Argentine).

https://jetsmart.com/cl/es/postula
Flybondi requests Argentine nationality.

The truth is that in America most of the countries request a passport from the country in which the airline is based, making it quite difficult to hire very valid people, who speak the language and who could perform an excellent service and work on board.
It is one of the reasons why European crews do not migrate to America (administrative difficulties) or between countries of that continent and instead very valid people are forced to “jump” to other places such as Europe (in the case of having obtained a European passport) or the Persian Gulf which, for cultural and population reasons, admits practically any nationality.
One of the key parts is knowing which market we have access to through our passport and which market we don’t.
From there, we will know which company we can try to access and which one would be impossible.
Until then, Find peaceful skies.
